My dog's back tooth is loose and rotten. Should I take her to the vet?

Hello, I was cleaning my dogs teeth and noticed that the very back tooth is rotten and is very loose. Should i let it fall out on its own or take her to the vet for them to take it out? Thank you Stephanie. Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 8 years and 10 months old | 8 lbs
