Found a worm in my new chick's water dish. Is it a parasite?

I was cleaning out my new chicks water dish and found something...concerning. Possible parasite? it appears to be a worm; it couldn't have crawled in since the brooder is inside. I've raised chickens before and never encountered something like this...any ideas of what this is exactly? This occurred on the second day of having them.

Thanks for reaching out an including photos. This does appear to be a nematode (possible earthworm). It is hard to believe a worm of that size would develop that large in a 2-day old chick. But having a fecal examination performed at a veterinary hospital would be a good idea. Good luck.
