My puppy's baby canine teeth aren't falling out. What can I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 4 months and 13 days old | 7 lbs

Patty's baby canine teeth hasn't come out yet. I recently took her a vet and he worried me by saying if they don't come out on their own, that he's going to have to extract them out. He also recommend I encourage her by playing with a rope toy. Is there any other recommendations that I could use to encourage them to come out? Thank you.

There really is nothing that you can do to help them come out. Sometimes they are in there so well they have to be extracted. It is not a big procedure and can easily be done at her spay. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
