How to help my new budgie settle and reduce stress with another bird?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male | 2 years and 4 months old

I just got a brand new Budgie named Blu, he is 2 yeas old and I was just wondering good ways to help him settle into his new home. Also both Blu and Kiwi (other Budgie) are used to other birds and have already been pretty interested in each other and have been chirping constantly back and fourth. I am just worried that Blu will become stressed with the new area , change, environment, and even new toys and a new budgie friend. Is there anyway I can help him settle down?

It is very common for bird’s to stress easily, especially with environmental changes. The best thing you can do for him is to keep the area he is in calm and quiet, offer him a well balanced diet, and interact with him on a regular basis so he becomes used to you. If he is used to being around other birds then having a companion near by like Kiwi will probably be comforting for him as well. I hope this helps. Congratulations on your new addition. Best of luck!
