My dog was exposed to parvo. Can I vaccinate him for prevention?

By God's grace my furry baby Buddy is completely ok and very good boy and a playful boy. I I came to know that my cousins dog,Ginni is suffering from parvovirus and I got very afraid but I am praying that she gets well.Can i vaccinate by Buddy against this virus for precaution? Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | 2 years and 3 months old | 60 lbs

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Buddy should absolutely be vaccinated for parvovirus if he is not already. A normal course of puppy vaccines (ie Rabies and DAPP) includes vaccination against parvovirus. I recommend asking your veterinarian if Buddy is up to date on his vaccinations, and definitely have him vaccinated if he is not. I hope this is helpful!
