My dog was exposed to parvo. Can I vaccinate him for prevention?

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | 2 years and 3 months old | 60 lbs

By God's grace my furry baby Buddy is completely ok and very good boy and a playful boy. I I came to know that my cousins dog,Ginni is suffering from parvovirus and I got very afraid but I am praying that she gets well.Can i vaccinate by Buddy against this virus for precaution?

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Buddy should absolutely be vaccinated for parvovirus if he is not already. A normal course of puppy vaccines (ie Rabies and DAPP) includes vaccination against parvovirus. I recommend asking your veterinarian if Buddy is up to date on his vaccinations, and definitely have him vaccinated if he is not. I hope this is helpful!
