Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 5 years and 2 months old | 9 lbs
I have a 4 year old Apple Head Deer Chihuachua. She has allergies and I give her Benadryl. Today she keeps gagging and she did spit up some white flem. Her breathing sounds raspy. I am a widow and can't really afford to take her to the vet. Is there some kind of home remedy I can do?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Daisy. She may have an upper respiratory tract infection given your description of her behavior. You can try placing her in the bathroom. Turn the shower to hot and allow the steam to build with the door closed. Having her breathe the hot steam can lessen congestion and help her to breathe easier. If her symptoms persist though she will need to see her veterinarian. She may need an antibiotic. I hope this information helps!
