My cat drools mucusy saliva when I give her a pill. Is this normal?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 25 days old

my 26 year old kitten has been coughing and experience breathing difficulties(breath through the mouth). Been to the vet 3 times, got injected and now prescribed Chemix tablet. Is it normal for the kitten to drool mucusy saliva when i give the tablet?

Yes, the tablet may taste bad causing her to drool. If she is still having breathing problems than your vet should take an x-ray to evaluate her lungs. If you are having a hard time giving the tablet, you could ask your vet for a liquid medication. She may also need an anti-inflammatory, bronchodilator, and/or a cough suppresant. Please call your vet and give him/her an update.
