My dog has a red spot on his nose that's growing. What should I do?

hello, my dog had a small red patch on his snout. we assumed it was just a scratch, but now its getting bigger. we’re not sure if we should be concered or not.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This could just be an area Morty traumatizes repeatedly. This may be especially true if he is an avid digger or in a kennel or crate he sticks his nose through or tries to bite the bars of. It could also be a little skin infection, allergic type reaction, or (much less likely) an auto immune condition. I would watch his behaviors closely to see if you can explain why that’s happening. Monitor the area and if there is no improvement in a week- or if it’s worsening at any time, head on in to the vet. Best of luck to you and Morty and hope this helps!
