Gulping and constantly licking could be indicative of nausea in your dog so I would watch him closely for vomiting and make sure he is eating normally. These symptoms may also be because of an irritant in his mouth or throat. Try to look in his mouth and see if you see anything abnormal. If the symptoms persist I would recommend taking him in to see your vet.
