My dog ate chicken bones, now constipated and in pain. What can I do?

ok so I am watching a shitzu for the inlaws and he got into the garbage yesterday and we figure he got some chicken bones . today he is having trouble going #2 . basically he has gotten part way through having a poo and it is stuck . it is very large compared to his normal and causing him what apeers to be a but load of pain no pun intended . Is there anything we can do to possibly help the poor little guy .

To help soften the stool you can offer a little bit of canned pumpkin. This may help the constancy, however, you'll want to be sure to keep an eye on him. If you notice any vomiting or blood in his stool you'll want to visit your local Veterinarian for possible bacterial overgrowth in the gut.
