My African Grey parrot is plucking feathers. Is this normal?

i have an african grey, she plugging her feathers a lot in and out season, i gave her a bath today and saw a gap at her neck, i am histerical at this stage cause it doesnt seem normal, we dont have a avarian vet close to us, is this normal should i send her to a vet

Thanks for reaching out about Poppie and including a photo. Psittacine Feather Picking Behavior and Feather Destructive Disorder can be caused by disease or psychological problems. A veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/ treatment plan. There are several infectious diseases and metabolic disorders that need to be ruled in/out. Diet should be discussed with the veterinarian. If these are appropriate, anti-anxiety medications can have great benefits. Good luck.
