What to do for my dog's dry, raw skin patches after bathing?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 4 years and 9 months old | 8 lbs

Tia has dry patches on her skin,when I wash her it comes off but leaves a raw place,I was her in antifungal shampoo,what else can I do?

Those spots on Tia could be several things including allergies, skin mites, flea bites, ringworm (which humans can get) or a bacterial infection. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You may also try changing her diet to something like Royal Canin or Nutro as they are aimed at skin health. You can wash the lesions with soap once a day and rinse well (don't wash her whole body, just those spots). You may also ask your veterinarian about antihistamines. Protect the areas from licking or scratching and she may need to wear an Elizabethan collar at all times. If the lesions don't start looking better within about a week or if they get worse, have her examined by the veterinarian who may prescribe medications.
