Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 3.8 lbs
something came from his butt. Literally he was snuggling with the other cat one minute, I walked out of the room, and when I walked back in he was chasing it, whatever it was. It almost looked like a worm??? Long and white and sort of segmented? I didn't want to pull at it, so I just snipped it...and he didn't react at all. His behavior isn't different, he's still a happy cuddly baby boy

A segmented "worm" could be a tapeworm. The segments look like dried bits of rice. Cats can become infected with tapes by ingesting fleas, the intermediate host. If you still have the section, submit to your veterinarian along with a stool sample to confirm tapeworm infection or other parasite infection. If tapeworms are diagnosed, your vet can prescribe the appropriate dewormer for Mr. Morton. You will likely need to treat the other cat for worms as well. All pets in the home should be treated for fleas and the environment should also be treated.
