Why does my dog get acne-like bumps and scabs on his chin and lip?

My dog has acne on his chin and on his sides of his upper lip. He also has some on his leg. He is a blue nose pitbull and 1 year with 4 months. After is pops it leaves a scab. I use Zymox Lp3 enzyme system to decrease the inflammation sometimes it works and it lessens the acne. But at times it don’t and it comes back. I also used Vaseline. Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 5 months old | 60 lbs

Poor guy! This sounds and looks like it could be either an allergy or a skin parasite. Scabies is the skin parasite I'd worry about. And allergies to food or the environment (like human hay fever) are both possible. I would recommend starting with a "skin scrap" by your vet to look for parasites, and then talking about diagnosis and treatment of allergies. Good luck!!
