Can my cat see in the dark without lights when I'm not home?

How well can cats see in the dark? I keep forgetting to leave the lights in my room for my kitten when I go to work since it’s dark when I get home. Can he see without the lights?

Cats have excellent night vision. Better than dogs. They have a part of their eye, called the tapetum lucidum (the bright part that we can see in the dark) that allows them to see much better than humans can for instance. Cats also have other physical features of their eyes that give them really great vision in general. He can see just fine and will probably be sleeping anyway awaiting your arrival home. That's what cats do best. Hope this answers your question.
