My rescue dog scratches, sneezes. What flea prevention for summer?

Pet's info: Dog | Rat Terrier | Male | neutered | 15 lbs

I rescued a jack Russell terrier and he scratches and sneezes quite a bit. What should I do. Also do I need to give him a flea collar since the summer months are coming and it is hot in TX

Yes, you should use a flea/tick prevention but do not recommend using flea collars. It would be better to use a product like Nexgard, Bravecto, Frontline, or Advantage Multi as these products work better and are safer. It sounds like he could have allergies and may need some prescription medications to help control the itching. Ask your vet about Apoquel or Cytopoint which help control allergies in dogs.
