Can I get flea and tick medicine for my dog without a vet visit?

Do I have to take my dogs to a vet to get flea and tick medicine to prevent them from having them

This will depend on the type of flea medication. Some of them are prescroption only , others can be bought over the internet or over the counter without a prescription. You can go to a pet shop and ask about which are OTC. Stay away from Hartz or PetArmour brands.

    There are several products effective against fleas and ticks that you can buy over the counter. They are in form of topical spot-on pipette that you apply on skin (for example Frontline, K9 Advantix), collars (Seresto, Killtix) or tablets (Nexgard). If you search online you will find many shops selling these products. Alternatively, you should be able to buy them in pet shops or at the vets.
