My cat is making these sounds like she exhales rapidly, kinda sounds like a sneeze or a cough at the same time. I don’t know how to explain it. It sounds like she’s having trouble breathing for a Few secs? I don’t really know. After she makes this sound, she would rub herself on the ground and then lick herself down there. she does all of that in the same order. She’s been doing this since yesterday. She would calm down for hours and then suddenly do that. She’s also constipated.

Hi there! irregular breathing in a cat can indicate a variety of issues. If your kitty is constipated, she may just be very uncomfortable. If it's not from constipation, cats can definitely get asthma, and may need to be maintained with medications if this is the case. Other reasons a cat may have irregular breathing, could be secondary to a lower respiratory infection, or even a heart condition. I would definitely have your cat evaluated by her veterinarian. They can listen to her heart and lungs and assess what they sound like. The veterinarian may recommend xrays, or lab-work to check her overall health. The Xrays will help evaluate the heart and lungs further, and since cats can usually fit on one Xray plate, they can get a good look at the gastrointestinal tract too, and see if she really is constipated and needs some hlep there. I would definitely make an appointment with your cat's veterinarian right away, to avoid any further complications that may arise! Depending on the cause, she may need some medical intervention right away! I hope you find this answer helpful! Best of luck!
