My bearded dragon has yellow skin after shedding. Is it fungus or stuck shed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Reptile | Bearded Dragon | Male | neutered | 1 year and 7 months old

Before investing in vet care and car service, I bought from petco a natural repti shed soak solution last week to help my Beardie shed and in turn it’s discolored his skin into a dry yellow shade by his head and mouth (his gums are fine). I’m concern if this is stuck shed or fungal ?

Thanks for reaching out about Sunny and including pictures. It is difficult to determine by the pictures but it is concerning that this could be a yellow fungus problem. If it is a poor shed, warm water soaks might help the retained shed loosen. A veterinary visit should be scheduled for diagnostic and treatment purposes. If you have other bearded dragons, keep them separated until fungal testing is negative. Good luck.
