Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 1 year and 7 months old | 94 lbs
There's no way to put this delicately, so here goes. My Shepherd mix always "scoots" his anal area after he has a BM. There is no sign of irritation, but he is a little too chubby to reach back there himself. His stool is firm, proper color and no signs of worms. Is this a "hint" that he has anal gland problems?

He may have one or both anal sacs impacted or inflamed and while defecating is supposed to make them empty, if that does not work, they may hurt or itch. This could be making Remy scoot to get rid of the irritation. I suggest you schedule an appointment with your vet for an anal gland check.
