Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 6 months and 9 days old
My 6 month old kitten (indoors) has what looks like brown wax or gunk inside his ears. They don't seem to be bothering him, and he doesn't shake his head or scratch at them, but not sure if this is something I should be concerned with. He had a vet visit last month, and there the vet didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Is it possible that he has ear mites? Or are we able to clean in his ears (and if so, is there a safe, natural way to do so)? Thank you!

Usually they are itchy when they have ear mites. It may just be some waxy buildup. Use a product such as this daily for 2-3 days, then once a week for a few weeks, then as needed: https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/zymox-ear-cleanser If at any point he does seem to be scratching at his ears or shaking his head, take him in to the vet so they can check for ear mites or a bacterial or yeast infection. Thanks for asking PetCoach!
