My budgie's beak is too long. Is it overgrown and what should I do?

Hello!! How are you guys? My budgie, Joy, is a sweet little male budgie who is not that active and therefore does not play and does not have a lot of opportunities to wear his beak down. I've recently been wondering (again) if his beak is overgrown. Should I be concerned? Thank you!

The end of his beak does look pretty overgrown. I would have your local vet trim it and teach you how to trim it back as needed if it continues to overgrow. Beak overgrowth can be caused by a number of things, including genetics where it may just overgrow or misalign anyway regardless of wear down. Regular trimming can help ensure it stays the right length to keep Joy happy and active.
