My dog ate Nutella, threw up, and had diarrhea. Is she okay now?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | 20 lbs

Hey my dog weighs about 20 pounds and consumed about an ounce of nutella after she did she through up and had diarrea its been about 24 hours since there and she seems to have gone back to normal playing except for throwing up once but afterwards seemed normal

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Lala. Nutella is high in fat and calories. This can cause gastrointestinal upset in a dog. There is a small amount of chocolate as well. This has the potential to cause toxicity, but the amount was likely too small given her size. However, I do recommend that she sees a veterinarian, especially if the vomiting continues. Pancreatitis is another complication and this can be serious. Inflammation of the pancreas is commonly triggered by high fat foods. I hope this information helps!

    Hi, I would not worry about Trixie having eaten a small amount of nutella on bread. There are no ingredients that are toxic to dogs in Nutella, so even if she had ingested a small piece of bread with some on it she would have been fine. Hope this helps !
