So, my mum decided to keep our kitten in the kitchen at night so that she doesn't go around the house (I don't know why, she just doesn't like the thought of her walking around and entering our rooms). The thing is that when we put her in and go away, she starts meowing and meowing, and I feel so bad for her that I have to go and make her sleep (I just can't leave her crying). But my mum tells me not to do or she will assume that whenever she cries I will so that, and I don't know what to do :c

Well, you’re both right. Halley has trained you well! She has figured out that if she cries, you will come and play. But on the other hand, an 8 week old kitten really can be very stressed and upset about being all alone. I’d consider a compromise like keeping her in a little carrier at night in your room. That way she can see and smell you at least. Try to comfort and pet her when she is NOT crying so that she learns that meowing is not the way to get things. Best wishes to you and Halley!

Congrats on your new kitten! Itsounds like you are doing things right for Jemima. She probably is lonely at night, and is meowing for attention. Moving into a new home can be stressful for a kitten, and she is used to being around her mother and litter mates, so being alone in a room at night will be lonely for her. She will adjust, but you can try letting her out of the room at night and leaving your bedroom door open so she can come sleep with you if she likes. I hope this helps!
