My 4 week old kitten suddenly pooped in my bed and it was orange, he only drinks his mother’s milk. Is this normal?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If it was formed and only one stool then I think he is fine. Nursing kittesn do not have normal colored stool. You can start deworming him now. At 4 weeks you can also start offering canned kitten food to start the weaning process. If diarrhea develops then contact your Vet as kittens this young can quickly get sick. Good luck!

The color of the feces can either be related to what the kitten is consuming or it could be that there is a hint of blood in the stool. Unless there are clinical signs of illness, I would not worry at this time. Small amounts of blood in the stool is not terribly unusual. The main thing to worry about in kittens is if they stop eating or drinking, or if they are not putting on weight in a normal fashion. They should also have a significant amount of energy.
