How can I stop my puppy from biting aggressively and hurting us?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Male | unneutered | 6 months and 9 days old | 39 lbs

How to stop my puppy from biting us? I understand that this is something pretty normal on puppies but I have this big problem with him because whenever he gets mad he bites us in an aggressive way while there are other times that he just puts his mouth on us but doesn't do any pression in his biting. I am really worried that he grows up and keeps having this behavior as an adult

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! You are likely describing teething which is basically a normal type of behavior when puppies are growing up and it is secondary to mouth discomfort as teeth are growing. I recommend that you get Thor teething type toys which you can get at your local pet store or online. Anytime that he tries to nibble at you, you say no and give him the toy. This is likely going to resolve the issue but it does take time and persistence. Good luck and have a good night!
