Carl is about 9 years old and he is very aggressive. He bites people often and last night he bit me right underneath the eye. He is getting dangerous but I love him so much I don’t want him to be put down. What can I do to stop this?

Please have Carl seen by a vet to help rule out a possible medical cause for his behaviour. In some cases your veterinarian may recommend medication that may help. If nothing is found to be physically wrong, seek the advice of a veterinary behaviorist to help curb this behavior. Visit the following link for more information on how to find a behaviourist https://avsab.org/resources/speakers-bureau/behavior-consultants-near-you/ . This is essential to help reduce the risk of him injuring you again, or injuring another person or another animal. Make sure to keep him on a leash and muzzled in public to reduce the risk of him biting anyone else, and keep him muzzled when you have other people or pets over at your house. Do not let him around other people or pets if he is in the habit of biting people, and makes sure hes is up to date on all vaccines he needs.
