My new pet is squirmy when I hold her. How do I make her comfortable?

So I finally got to hold her and she didn’t bite me or anything like that but she’s squirmy and she likes to climb so only held her for a couple seconds. What should i keep doing? Pet's info: Small Animal | Unknown - Small Animal | Female

Well done on holding her. The best thing to do is to keep these sessions really short until she gets more comfortable with you. If you force her to stay in your hand you will ultimately scare her. Keep some nice treats that she likes and give them when handling so she has a positive association.
