My kitten has severe fleas. What should I do and what can a vet do?

I really need an answer quick....we just got a kitten....he is very young, we gave him a bath and discovered that he is SEVERELY INFESTED with fleas what should we do and what does a vet normally do for this with a cat that is young. Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Male | unneutered

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Bath the kitten in plain blue Dawn dish detergent. Lather him up well and let the soap soak for a couple of minutes before rinsing. This is non toxic and will kill the fleas that are on him, but won't have residual flea control. Then I recommend contacting your vet for other options for long term flea control that is safe for a kitten.
