My pet's flea treatment failed. Can I apply a better one right away?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Male | neutered | 8 years and 4 months old | 22 lbs

I used hartz flea treatment it’s been a week and still not working my poor babies have scabs from constant scratching and I’ve cleaned up all inside and outside. So could I just get a better flea treatment and put it on them or do I really have to wait a month??

I would recommend to apply a better quality flea product on prescription. Here is a list of good quality flea (and ticks) treatment. Spot ons: Revolution, Advantage, Advantage Multi, Bravecto spot on (ticks as well) - for cats. A good house spray would be Indoorex.
