Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 16 years and 5 months old | 12 lbs
Hi my cats glands under her nose, above her lip are swollen. What could that mean? She has drainage. I took her to the vet and they gave her 2 shots of antibiotics and 2 pills, I can’t remember name of. It helped for over a month but has come back. Could this mean a damn tumor? She’s 16

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. It depends on what the primary problem is in regards to treatment. If this is infectious, then a second round of antibiotic therapy may be needed. Without pictures and without seeing this in person myself, it is difficult to say what it is and what the most appropriate treatment should be. Some cats develop a condition known as eosinophilic granuloma complex and an indolent ulcer (which shows up on the upper lip typically) is a common presentation of this condition. She may need a round of steroids to help reduce this reaction as it is stimulated by allergies many times or unknown causes. I would discuss this further with the veterinarian in regards to further treatment / diagnostic options. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
