Why does my senior dog have non-itchy, peeling scabs on his skin?

My dog has something that looks like a rash but its like a scab. It doesnt itch him. It looks like a birth mark but then peels off. He is 13 years old. Please help me. Thank you. Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Male | neutered | 13 years old | 5 lbs

Poor Henry. This looks like a potential skin infection. You could try to bathe him in a medicated shampoo like miconahex-triz shampoo twice a week and add some omega 3 fatty acids to his diet. I would also add some Benadryl twice a day just in case there is an allergy component. See link below. If he isn't improving, I would have your vet take a look at him.
