My cat took 10mg famotidine. Is this dose safe? Any side effects?

My vet recommended that my cat take famotidine. I thought he said to give her 10mg, but now I’m reading that she should only have 2.5-5mg. Since I have her 10mg, do I need to worry about her having serious side effects or being poisoned by it? Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 7.5 lbs

That does seem very high for her weight. A single dose at 10 mg is unlikely to cause any side effects. i would contact your vet tomorrow to verify the proper dose before re administering anything though
