Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 8 years and 2 months old
Following up on a question I asked yesterday. My cat has mild constipation with hard dry stools, this morning I fed her some pureed pumpkin and I've made sure that she gets extra water added to her wet food diet in addition to her regular drinking water. Roughly how soon should I expect a bowel movement, or roughly how soon should I be worried enough to take her to the vet?

Continue with the pumpkin at each feeding. As long as she’s not straining in the box you can wait until Monday to bring her in for an enema if she hasn’t pooped by then. I expect she’ll go within another 12 hours. I feed pumpkin to my older cat every day to prevent constipation.
