My dog threw up a worm. Is dewormer enough or does he need a vet?

My dog threw up a long worm but hasn't had any in his stool. I started deworm drops for him but should I get him to a vet soon?

Starting Maddox on a deworming treatment was a good idea and considering the worm he threw up was long, it's likely he has roundworms. An OTC dewormer will kill them. He will need another deworming treatment two weeks after this one to kill all the worms present. After that, he will need to be dewormed every three months.
