My cat has a dry spot & flaky scab on neck. Can I use Benadryl cream?

My car has a small dry spot on his neck...with a flacky scab on it should I be worried? Can I put benadryl cream on it?

No, I would not put benadryl cream on it. Although quite safe on superficial wounds, cats groom and ingest most of the topical ointment you apply and therefore should be used only under direct veterinary supervision and if there are no other appropriate options. Many human ointments contain multiple other ingredients which are not necessarily safe to be swallowed. Given that it's only a small dry spot, I wouldn't be worried about it. Keep an eye on it, and if it doesn't heal, you can take Duke into the vet to have it examined.
