New cat has fleas. When does Revolution work? Will my other cats get them?

A cat came to our porch 2 days ago and we have been letting it in and out when needed. I'm in Kansas City, KS, so we keep him in to sleep and out when he wants. I seen black specks on him (not a lot though), but I have an unused Revolution flea medicine that I bought a couple of mo ago & used it on him last night. When will it begin killing them? How will the fleas affect my other 3 cats?? Not sure if he has a family, but he wants attention, really clean & healthy looking. Pet's info: Cat | Siberian | Female | spayed

Revolution will start working 12 hours after application, but it will take 24 hours before all the fleas are killed. As long as your cats have flea protection as well, the fleas will not affect them. You can also give your cats and the stray cat Capstar. It's a one time pill that starts killing fleas in 30 minutes, and it's safe to use now. If he doesn't have a home, you may have a new member of your family :-)
