What to do if my 2-week puppy is lethargic, breathing hard, milk from nose?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 4 months old | 55 lbs

My dog had pups and I have a 2 week old puppy who’s been acting strange since last night. He seems kinda lethargic and seems to have difficulties breathing. He threw up some milk last night and milk is coming out of his nose. No vets in my area are open right now. What do I do, how can I help him? Please help

With what you are describing I would worry about aspiration pneumonia. Since it is coming out of his nose, there may be a defect in the palate of the mouth or he just swallowed too much too fast. All you can do is keep him warm and bottle feed him to make sure he is getting an adequate amount until you can see a vet for further medicatoin
