My 3 yr. old female Cocker Spaniel seems to give off that stinky fishy musk odor on and off during the day. It is such a horrible odor and you never know when she’s going to do it. It happens when she’s excited and when she lying still. Even after having vet tech express them, it still happens afterwards the same amount as before seeing the vet. What is going on? She has food allergies which she’s on Apoquel and ,Rx diet food. Any s/uggestions to help? Thank you!

I guess the best course of action would be to have the glands checked over to make sure they aren’t infected. If it’ s all fine, a permanent solution would be to have them removed. I would discuss all the pros and cons of the surgery with your vet and then decide accordingly. I have performed this surgery several times and it can make a huge different for both dogs and owners because of anal glands continuous issues and discomfort or just odour !
