Is it safe to give my senior cat aspirin for pain or discomfort?

Have a male cat, 15+yo, 6.5 lbs, bad teeth, hip issue doesn't walk well. Can I give him (baby) aspirin to alleviate discomfort?

I wouldn't recommend it, because aspirin has a low margin of safety in cats and can cause some severe problems. It is also not good to give this class of medication if she happens to have any kidney or liver problems. It's best to have a veterinarian evaluate her and prescribe the necessary pain medication. They can also help with any other issues she may have; such as the bad teeth.
