My cat has feline leukemia. Why is she losing fur above her tail?

My cat has started to loose her fur right above her tail and she also has feline leukemia not sure if that would have anything to do with it but she 4 an that has never happened before. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 1 year and 4 months old | 6 lbs

Hair loss above the tail is often due to fleas, so I would first check her well for fleas.
