My dog has a new, painless lump on her ear. Is it a serious growth?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Weimaraner | Female | spayed | 165 lbs

Fatty lump appeared about two weeks ago. She doesn't yelp or act like she's in pain when we touch it or near it. It's located on her ear.

It does not appear to be a fatty tumor as they are typically under the skin. It is s growth though and unlikely to go away without surgery. It may be an adenoma or histiocytoma as these are common skin growths that are not cancerous and generally do not get much larger then what you have now a mast cell tumor is cancer and does have a similar appearance. I would have your vet check the cells to see what it is and see if surgery is needed for the best possible outcome
