Cat burned paw on stove. What first aid can I give for a paw burn?

My cat jumped onto a red hot stove burner and burnt the side of his paw pad and one toe bean, the skin broke on the toe, what do i do for him?

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. I would make sure that you keep the area clean of any dirt or litter. I would recommend using yesterday's news litter to prevent litter particles from contaminating the area. To help prevent infection, I would recommend soaking the foot in a solution of Betadine and saline twice daily for 3 to 5 days. This solution should be light brown in color. If the area does not heal or worsens, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine the area so that the most appropriate treatment can be administered.
