Why is my senior cat grunting, lethargic, and struggling to breathe?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | 16 years and 8 months old | 7 lbs

My cat is 17 years old and it's have a hard time breathing you can hear him make like a grunt sound everytime he breathes in and out I'm not sure on what to do he's being very lethargic more then usual any thing that you could think it could be?

Poor Stinky! The most common causes of labored breathing in a cat this age would be a severe respiratory infection, heart disease, or lung cancer. I would recommend having him examined by a vet as soon as possible to find out what's wrong - he/she can take x-rays to help diagnose the problem and see what can be done to treat it.
