My cat has ear mites and ointment isn't working. How can I treat them?

My cat has ear mites and its getting really bad, I've applied ointment once two days ago but its not working, how can I get rid of the mites?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Medications used for ear mites such as ivermectin are quite effective. However, it is crucial to make sure that the ear debris is cleaned as well as part of therapy for this to be effective. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment recommendations. Usually they respond very well to the right therapy. Good luck and have a good day!
