My new kitten was outside. Does it need an urgent vet checkup?

Hi i'm getting a new kitten today that has been outside, Do you think its necessary that the kitten needs to go see a vet.?

Congratulations on your new kitten Milo! Yes, Milo does need to see a vet. Kittens need 3-4 rounds of vaccinations just like puppies and children to avoid diseases. Especially being outside, internal and external parasites are more likely so getting him checked for those and treated.Some intestinal worms can be transmitted to humans so you want to make sure you are not being exposed. I would also recommend a blood test for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency viruses. These are immunosuppressive viruses that may affect long term health and may be spread to other cats. All of this should be addressed in Milo's first visit. Best of luck!
