My dog was in a fight and has bite wounds. Should he lick them?

Is it good or bad if a boxer dog licks his wounds Our neighbors dogs came up yesterday and i think he was trying to protect us from their dogs then our dog went back down then i heard a growl then i turned around and they were fighting 3 dogs against our only one it ended up our dog got bit on his left but, and through his ear all the way, and also on his right leg he whines a lot i think bc of the pain and he dosnt like getting up but he has to to go to the br.List things i should do + not :)

I am sorry to hear that this has happened to you dog. Probably the best thing to do in this situation is to take you dog to a vet to be examined. Oftentimes with bite wounds, there can be much tissue trauma below the skin and the wounds can actually be worse than they appear. Your vet will be able to examine these wounds and plan a course of action. Some of the wounds may require surgery to close. Tyson will also need some antibiotics to help prevent infection and some pain medication to keep him comfortable. In the meantime, until you can get him to a vet, try to keep Tyson from licking his wounds to prevent further infection. I hope this helps.
