My dog's bleeding lip from chewing. What can I put on it if she licks?

Pet's info: Dog | Great Dane | Female | spayed | 1 year and 6 months old | 120 lbs

19 month old Great Dane. Chewed the trim off of the corner of the wall and not has an upper lip abrasion that she repeatedly licks and it bleeds. What can I put on her face that she will inevitably lick off?

Silly Molly! It can be so frustrating trying to get a lip abrasion to settle! You could try putting a little bid of sudocreme or savlon antisceptic cream on the lip, or failing that some vaseline to act as a barrier. She will likely lick it off no matter what. If it is very superficial it should eventually settle down, however if it is getting worse she may need antibiotics and medicated cream from the vet.
