My dog has yellow watery stools but acts normal. Is chicken and rice okay?

Hi. 10 yr old GSD. Yellow watery stools. None smelly and dog acting normal. Now on small chicken and boiled rice. Is that okay

Hello, & thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Yes, this is very appropriate. You should try to keep the diet 25% boiled chicken to 75% boiled white rice feeding small meals several times a day. As long as there is no vomiting, you can do this for about a week before trying to transition back to the regular diet. I would also add a probiotic to help heal the gut microbiome. If the diarrhea is not improving with the bland diet & probiotics, then please consult with Jack's regular vet to see what else may be needed to clear up the diarrhea. Hope he is well soon.
