Why is my cat biting himself and losing fur? Is it fleas or something else?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 110 lbs

My cat is always biting at himself as if he has fleas but he doesnt. It is causing him to lose his hair all over on his stomach,above tail and now everywar is there anythg over counter i can buy

Even if you don't see fleas, I would still recommend using a monthly flea preventative. Some cats can have an allergy to fleas, and all it takes is one flea bite to make them itchy all over. There are several other possible causes for his itching and pulling out his hair, including mites, allergies (fleas, food, environmental), ringworm, behavioral, among a few others. I would recommend that Kitty get checked out by a vet to see what could be the cause so that he can get the appropriate treatment.
